The ski resort of St-Luc/Chandolin is situated in the Val d’Anniviers in canton Valais, Switzerland. It is a medium-sized resort with 14 ski-li s and 75km of slopes. The resort is well-known as a « secret spot » for freeride skiing, offering, among others, as much forest-backcountry skiing as steep face skiing on the Couloirs des Ombrintzes.
The First Track Freeride is an off-piste ski and snowboard competition which has been organised in the St-Luc/Chandolin ski resort since the winter of 1999-2000. This lively international sporting event this a 3-star stage of the Freeride World Qualifier which allows the winners access to the famous Freeride World Tour! The competition takes place over two days, with each competitor doing one run per day. The winner is decided by the highest combined score over the two days.
Over 100 riders
Over one hundred international freeriders take part each year, hoping to qualify for the renowned Freeride World Tour.
Over half the participants are in the men’s ski group, a third in the men’s snowboard group, the remaining quarter are women skiers and snowboarders.

Espace Live
To immerge the spectators as much as possible in the competion a giant screen at the Espace Live will show the runs in real time !
As usual this area will be on the terrace of the Tsapé resaurant. There will also be a food, drinks, ski tests and live music.
The après-ski will take place at the departure of Chandolin’s chair lifts on the Saturday of the competition where absinthe
will flow in abundance !
